New Holiday Series
“Chilli Crab” is part of my new holiday series that I’m putting together on Instagram Here you can see all my favourite places as paintings on canvas. I’m trying to evoke both the emotion and atmosphere of the places I visit.

Above is the final collage of all the paintings that were part of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. I’ve exceeded my expectations and along the way I’ve created some work that I’m proud of and also some disasters. I’ve been covered in paint and purchased bulk paint to keep up with the demand. I’ve also re-painted over some canvases that were gathering dust. This both saved money and gave some excellent textures to the underlying work.
All in all a very satisfying month. Hopefully I can keep the momentum going and upload a painting weekly, rather than daily.
30 x 40 cm Acrylic on canvas
This painting is of crystal creek, in this I tried to capture the textures of rocks and the cool water of the creek. The creek is a break in the rainforest where the harsh light breaks through the cool dark forest.
Acrylic on Canvas 25.5 x 25.5 cm
This painting is one of the many birds that reside at Ballyando Crossing. The only stop on a 378km journey through the Australian outback. The long road between Clermont and Charters Towers. While having a sandwich on a picnic bench these birds come up looking for scraps.

Mixed Media on Canvas 4.5 x 8 cm
Another addition to the European Sketchbook

Another addition to the sunrise and sunset paintings, which now has it’s own portfolio page.
10 x 15 cm watercolour on paper
Another sketch based on one of the sights of the a recent trip to Europe, Using the same mixed media techniques to both create a more dimensional drawing and add more details.
Acrylic on Canvas 20.5 x 25 cm
This painting is based on a sunrise during an early morning bike ride along The Strand. I tried to capture the still water as the sun rose and the reflections that played across the water.
